As a founder of Salon.com I was around when Netscape released version 1.0, and I’ve worked in publishing ever since. In my spare time I wrote two children’s books, and I also have a finished manuscript for a third. I love to draw but don’t make enough time for it. (That’s changing, however.)
I came to writing late. Had I known that writing middle grade fiction would make me this happy I would have done it way earlier. For me, writing a book is like being able to go on vacation anywhere I like, whenever I like, for as long as I like.
The trouble is, sometimes I want to stay.
